The Snowman and the Snowdog is the sequel to the story of The Snowman. It aired on Channel 4 on Christmas Eve 2012 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Snowman and of Channel 4. Bringing some extra fun and mischief to the original story, The Snowdog appeals to a contemporary audience and provides a new way for the whole family to come together each year and re-live the magic.

When a young boy and his mother move house, the boy discovers a secret box hidden under the floorboards of his bedroom. In it are a hat, scarf, some lumps of coal and a shriveled tangerine: a snowman-making kit!
Later that day it snows and the boy builds a Snowman and, to keep it company, a Snowdog. During the night they both come to life, and the three embark on magical adventures.
