Carrot Productions is proud to be a specialist and world leader in the creation and staging of film and orchestra performances.
 
With a passion to innovate across many art forms, we collaborate with artists to create exciting new shows for children and families, always placing the orchestra at the forefront of the experience.

In our partnerships and collaborations with some of Britain’s finest creative brands and characters - including Aardman and Penguin - our award-winning shows have been staged worldwide.

2013

  • Carrot Productions founded

  • First 5 performances of The Snowman in Glossop

2014

  • Carrot Productions incorporated

  • First tour of The Snowman - 8 venues

  • Partnership with Derbyshire Music Hub established

2015

  • Commissioned Tom Scott to create animation for The Nutcracker

  • The Snowman Tour - 26 performances in 13 venues

  • First performance at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital - presented by Jason Manford

  • First sponsored event in partnership with Oglesby Charitable Trust

2016

  • Commissioned actor, illustrator, animator and composer for new production - Cinderella

  • The Snowman Tour - 30 performances, including the first ‘relaxed’ performance

  • Collaboration with Dance Syndrome

  • Partnership established with Lincolnshire Music Hub

2017

  • Commissioned Joanna Lumley, David Litchfield and Daniel Whibley for new production - The Bear and the Piano

  • The Snowman Tour - 45 performances in 14 venues 

  • Partnerships established with Love Music Trust and Oldham Music Service

  • Collaboration with Believe and Achieve disability dance group

2018

  • Commissioned story writer, illustrator, animator and composer for new production - A Donkey’s Tale

  • Collaboration with Aardman begins

  • The Snowman performance at Cheshire Oaks Christmas Lights switch on

2019

  • First collaboration with Aardman, Wallace & Gromit’s Musical Marvels (now Wallace & Gromit in Concert) premieres at the National Film and Television Studio, attended by Nick Park and Julian Nott

  • Wallace & Gromit’s Musical Marvels national tour - 38 performances at major UK venues

  • Wallace & Gromit’s Musical Marvels at the Edinburgh Festival

  • Collaboration with Oldham Theatre Workshop on a filming project

  • Nationwide The Snowman Tour - including first relaxed performances for children from special schools

2020

  • Covid pandemic cancels performances of Wallace & Gromit’s Musical Marvels in Japan, South Korea and New Zealand

  • Funding received from the National Lottery for first time

  • Schooltime Showtime: The Snowman package created to bring arts to schools digitally during the pandemic

  • Socially-distanced performances of The Snowman staged - first time our musicians have performed for 9 months

2021

  • Pandemic cancels most performances

  • Socially-distanced performances of Wallace & Gromit in Concert at the Lowry, Salford - performance is BSL-signed and Audio Described

  • Second digital arts package Schooltime Showtime: Wallace & Gromit created as pandemic continues to impact the Arts

  • Nationwide The Snowman tour - including first collaboration with Sky VIP

2022

  • New accessible show Musical Beasts created, as Carrot continues mission to break down barriers preventing access to world-class live music

  • Collaboration begins with all Leicestershire and Derbyshire special schools - 67 performances staged in the heart of special schools

  • Collaboration with Glossop Music Festival begins

  • Commissioned by Aardman to arrange Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas for live performance

  • Musical Beasts - 8 performances in Hull over 4 days

  • Premiere of Shaun the Sheep in Concert in Bristol, the home of Aardman

  • Nationwide The Snowman Tour - including Sky VIP and relaxed performances

  • Carrot Show Hire launched - production and music hire available worldwide

  • Carrot Trust charity founded to further develop our accessible work
