Wallace and Gromit, Aardman’s most loved and iconic duo, have been delighting audiences for over 30 years. Since Nick Park introduced the characters in 1989’s Academy Award®-nominated A Grand Day Out, the duo have appeared in 4 other films, including The Wrong Trousers, which won 13 awards, including the Academy Award® for best short film.

Wallace & Gromit in Concert

Our first collaboration with Aardman, in 2019, Wallace & Gromit in Concert is an award-winning, action-packed, and totally unique show that has been designed to appeal to all ages.

Wallace & Gromit, appearing on the big screen, interact with the show's presenter on stage via the "Maestromatic". This fantastical contraption comes complete with a plate of cheese and crackers, and a chute for receiving letters and compositions from Wallace.

A concerto calamity

A new musical composition by Wallace is due to be played by the end of the night, called "My Concerto in Ee, Lad" (of course!). Wallace has invented a mechanised petrol-powered piano called the pianomatic to play the tune, but the invention backfires on itself, and the piano, along with his concerto, is destroyed. Gromit (aka Poochini) ends up saving the night, but we won’t give the game away by telling you how he does it.

Model making workshops

We have teamed up with Aardman to offer model making workshops alongside many of our performances, where you can try your hand at making your very own Gromit. These provide the perfect opportunity to learn from the experts, and the fun doesn’t stop there....you can take your masterpiece home and have a go at animating it using Aardman’s easy to use Animate It! software.

You’ll also get a rare chance to ask questions about Aardman Studios from one of their expert model makers, learning the tricks of the trade about the animation processes involved in their award-winning films. These workshops provide a creative, fun and hands-on activity for all ages.

All materials are provided and you’ll be able to take your masterpiece home with you, along with an Aardman Model Maker certificate.

Nick Park and
Julian Nott

Nick Park is a four-time Academy Award® winner: winning three in the category of Best Animated Short Film - Creature ComfortsWallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers and Wallace & Gromit: A Close Shave - together with one for Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit in the category of Best Animated Feature Film. All four films were created and produced at Aardman, in Bristol, where Nick is a director.

Julian Nott has written the music for all the Wallace & Gromit films, including the theme tune and original score for A Grand Day Out, created when he and Nick Park were students together at the National Film and Television School. His music goes with Nick’s films brilliantly – rather like cheese and crackers!

Wallace & Gromit…from home!

Produced during the 2020 lockdown, all the parts were recorded individually by the musicians at home, then sent to us to mix. Their dedication to film themselves in the most absurd and creative situations is astounding! The recordings were superbly edited by DubbedDuck.
