At the end of each performance on The Snowman Tour 2025, audiences joined in with a magical mass sing-a-long of Walking in the Air, getting the chance to sing alongside our amazing orchestra and fabulous soloist, all in support of Classic FM's charity, Make Some Noise.

“Fun fact: including the rehearsals, solo performances and singalongs, Walking in the Air was performed a whopping 93 times during this tour!” Claire Surman, General Manager, Carrot Productions
Every year, we audition young soloists to perform this much-loved song with our orchestra – an unforgettable experience that has now been enjoyed by over 300 children across the UK. Last year, we opened that invitation even wider by welcoming the public to our first-ever Walking in the Air flashmob. This year’s mass sing-along chorus was a beautiful continuation of that tradition.
In addition to the singing, Sean Chandler – the deaf trumpet player and star of CBeebies’ Musical Storyland – created an exclusive video for our performances. He guided us on how to sign the lyrics in British Sign Language (BSL), so that everyone could join in and sing and/or sign together.
Whether families chose to sing, sign, or simply soak up the atmosphere, it was very special to have everyone united in a truly moving and memorable moment to celebrate the magic of Christmas!
You can relive the magic with this compilation film of some of the sing-alongs!
“During the course of the tour over 26,000 people got the chance to sing Walking in the Air! It was very special to play our part in the 40th anniversary celebration.” Rachel Whibley, Managing Director of Carrot Productions
Donations
We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to your generous donations, we raised a total of £1,504.54 as part of The Big Christmas Chorus. Thank you to each and every one of you!
Make Some Noise
As Aled Jones pointed out, it was more just a singalong – it was a chance to raise voices and funds for Make Some Noise, the official charity of Global's radio stations – which include Classic FM, Capital, Heart, LBC and Smooth Radio.
The charity funds vital life-changing projects across the UK, delivered by small, local charities, with the aim of making sure no one faces life’s toughest challenges alone. Projects include providing shelter and safety, supporting physical and mental health, preventing isolation, improving life skills, and tackling a wide range of issues including bereavement, food poverty, domestic abuse, homelessness and loneliness.
“Our amazing audiences raised such a lot of money for all those worthwhile causes. I would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you who so generously donated to Make Some Noise” Rachel Whibley, Managing Director, Carrot Productions
