We are delighted to once again offer young singers the chance to perform the iconic solo Walking in the Air with our incredible orchestra during The Snowman.
We are looking for talented singers, aged 7-17 inclusive (7-14 for Buxton and Derby), with the pure sound traditionally associated with this evocative solo to join us for The Snowman Tour 2026. Could one of those singers be you?

Walking in the Air: the auditions
Each year we audition children who live or are at school in the local area to our venues for the chance to be part of our magical Christmas show The Snowman Tour.
This is a wonderful, unique opportunity to perform with our professional orchestra in front of hundreds of people.
This year's soloists will join the 300+ young people who have starred as our singers in previous tours, many of whom cited it as a life-changing experience.
Accessible auditions
One of our key aims at Carrot Productions is to help break-down barriers so that meaningful musical experiences are available to all – whether as a performer, participant in our interactive shows or audience member. For this reason, our auditions are open to all children aged 7-17 (7-14 for Buxton and Derby).
We provide those wishing to audition with the sheet music, lyrics and two backing tracks (one with a vocal track and an orchestral backing track) to help them prepare for the audition.
Some of the auditions are run by the local music services or the Cathedrals, but the majority are run directly by us. During the autumn, we travel the country to different venues to listen to hundreds of talented young singers.

The Snowman Tour 2026
A magical, family Christmas show
All shows will feature a special screening of The Snowman, accompanied by our live orchestra.
As an extra festive treat, performances also include Fleece Navidad, a hilarious Shaun the Sheep Christmas short episode, accompanied live by the musicians. There will also be a fun, festive medley and introduction to the orchestra, a special visit from The Snowman himself, and the chance for everyone to join in singing Walking in the Air accompanied by the orchestra at the end of the show.
