In July, 2024 we returned to Birmingham Symphony Hall for the premiere of Stand By For Action! 2: Gerry Anderson in Concert, co-produced with Anderson Entertainment. As you can see from this video round-up, it wasn't just the audience who loved it - our specially-costumed orchestra had a lot of fun too!

After several months of anticipation, Stand By For Action! 2: Tunes of Danger proved to be a hugely enjoyable celebration of some of the most evocative and exciting music in television history. Fred McNamara

Stand By For Action! 2: The Show

Following the 2022 premiere of 'Standby for Action!', the audience in the packed Symphony Hall once again stepped into the timeless world of Gerry Anderson’s TV shows, as 70 years of captivating adventure music was brought to life.

Jon Culshaw

Our full orchestra - specially renamed the Hackenbacker Orchestra for the occasion and resplendent in superb Anderson-inspired costumes - was conducted by George Morton, sporting a magnificent Thunderbirds dinner jacket. Together with the host for the evening, the incomparable Jon Culshaw, and four wonderful singers - Wendy Carr, Emily Louise Brown, Michael Storrs and Matt Ford - they treated the audience to powerful renditions of memorable themes from shows like Thunderbirds, Space: 1999, Stingray, and Terrahawks. With superb arrangements by Carrot's Artistic Director, Daniel Whibley, alongside the iconic animated films, they were transported from underwater expeditions to interstellar voyages.

As 2024 marked the 60th Anniversary of Stingray, the audience were treated to an exclusive live performance of a brand new Stingray story: Deadly Concerto - performed by the concert's host, Jon Culshaw, alongside Marc Silk, Jules de Jongh, Wayne Forrester, and Nicholas Briggs.

This was the first instalment in Anderson Entertainment's trans-media narrative Stingray: Deadly Uprising, and a prelude to the other stories released in the subsequent months.
