The Big Christmas Chorus
Have you ever dreamed of singing with a live orchestra? This year, you can. During The Snowman Tour, we’re inviting all audience members to join us in singing Walking in the Air at the end of each performance.
Each year, we audition young soloists to perform Howard Blake’s beautiful song with our orchestra — an unforgettable opportunity that has already been enjoyed by almost 300 children across the UK. Last year, we extended the invitation to the public, who took part in our very first Walking in the Air flashmob.
Now, in support of Classic FM’s charity, Make Some Noise, we’re thrilled to announce The Big Christmas Chorus — a chance for everyone attending our performances to sing (or sign!) together and help raise funds for a wonderful cause.
You can rehearse with our orchestra using the video below, and we’re delighted that Sean Chandler — deaf trumpet player and star of Musical Storyland on CBeebies — has created a video to teach you how to sign the lyrics in British Sign Language (BSL).
Whether you choose to sing, sign, or simply soak up the atmosphere, you’ll be part of a truly moving and memorable moment to celebrate the magic of Christmas.

The difference your money makes
Global’s Make Some Noise funds project at small charities changing lives across the UK. Supporting people through bereavement, mental health challenges, illness and much more.
The money you raise will help us to make sure no one faces life’s toughest challenges alone.
A £5 donation could pay for a hot meal for someone with early-stage dementia during activity sessions, allowing them to share a meal and not feel so alone.
A £10 donation could pay for an initial phone call to support a bereaved family after the loss of a loved one.
A £20 donation could mean that a child in hospital could have half an hour of music therapy, bringing some much
needed distraction and happiness into their day.
