We are delighted to announce a new collaboration with Penguin in 2024, as The Snowman and the Snowdog join our tour programme.
This sequel to The Snowman first aired on Channel 4 on Christmas Eve 2012, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of both The Snowman and Channel 4. Bringing some extra fun and mischief to the original story, The Snowdog appeals to a contemporary audience and provides a new way for the whole family to come together each year and re-live the magic.
The enchanting soundtrack by British composer Ilan Eshkeri, features the song Light the Night written by Razorlight drummer, Andy Burrows, and will be brought to life by our full orchestra in a stunning arrangement by Carrot Productions' very own musical director, Daniel Whibley.
The Story of The Snowman and The Snowdog
When a young boy and his mother move house, the boy discovers a secret box hidden under the floorboards of his bedroom. In it are a hat, scarf, some lumps of coal and a shriveled tangerine: a snowman-making kit!
Later that day it snows and the boy builds a Snowman and, to keep it company, a Snowdog. During the night they both come to life, and the three embark on magical adventures.
