In addition to The Snowman, this year's tour will feature a brand-new animation of Peter and the Wolf by animator and animation director, Tsotne Rusishvili, alongside Prokofiev's symphonic masterpiece, in a new musical arrangement by Daniel Whibley.

“Creating Peter and the Wolf for Carrot Productions was both a challenge and a joy. I grew up inspired by the Disney classics where music and image flowed together so naturally, and I wanted to capture that spirit with something fresh, playful and engaging” Tsotne Rusishvili, Animator

The new work represents a major new screen-and-music project: an original animated film of Peter and the Wolf, specially commissioned by Carrot Productions. The Georgian 2D animator and animation director, Tsotne Rusishvili, has created an exclusive new film, to be screened alongside a freshly tailored orchestral arrangement of Peter and the Wolf by Carrot’s artistic director, composer and arranger, Daniel Whibley, and played live by our orchestra.
The film will receive its first two public screenings on 30 November, 2025 in Stockport Town Hall, followed by a further 31 performances across 12 more iconic venues during the course of December.
A commissioned animation for the concert hall
Carrot Productions spent months of research and development exploring potential animation collaborators before selecting Tsotne Rushilli for the commission. His combination of playful artistry, strong narrative instinct and an ability to synchronise imagery with music made him the standout choice to bring this project to life.
The result is a 19 minute hand-crafted, 2D animation designed expressly for live performance, its pacing and storytelling carefully aligned with the orchestral score.
Critical acclaim
There has been lots of interest in the new film, with Carrot Productions featured in national and international press, including: Licensing.biz, License Global and Prolific North.

Tsotne Rusishvii - Animator

Tsotne Rusishvili is a 2D animator and animation director from Tbilisi, Georgia. A self-taught artist and trained lawyer, Tsotne began his artistic journey around the age of 35, after spending ten years working in public service. Although his career was stable, he felt unfulfilled and eventually decided to follow his true passion—animation—which had always felt like the path he was meant to take.
His notable works include his original short animated film Kato’s Dreams (produced by 20 Steps Productions), the animated TV series Another Level Odyssey (produced by Dem Lab, one season, ten episodes), and Peter and the Wolf, an animated short created for Carrot Productions.
Tsotne has also worked on various independent short animated films, animation projects, and commercials as an animation director, storyboard artist, lead animator, and animator—both independently and as a proud member of the Studio Animatory team.
He lives in Tbilisi with his wife and two children.
“My goal was to make the live performance richer and more immersive, offering audiences a fresh way to encounter Prokofiev’s masterpiece” Tsotne Rusishvili, Animator
Peter and the Wolf

This classic symphonic fairy tale was created by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936 as a fun way to teach children about the different instruments of the orchestra.
In the story, a brave boy named Peter manages to cleverly trick and capture a dangerous wolf, with assistance from his animal friends.
Prokofiev assigned a distinct musical theme and a specific instrument to each character, so listeners could easily follow the action:
Music re-imagined for today’s audiences
The score is created via a new orchestral arrangement by Daniel Whibley, whose compositions and orchestrations underpin every Carrot production. His recent commissions include: the BBC Philharmonic’s CBeebies Musical Storyland, The Musical Story of the Gingerbread Man (with millions of iPlayer views), and the CBeebies Bedtime Prom at the Royal Albert Hall, which has launched this week on BBC iplayer.
Daniel's new treatment of Prokofiev’s music ensures that the score interlocks seamlessly with Rusishvili’s animation, while maximising the expressive power of a live orchestra in concert halls and Cathedrals nationwide.
“The commission of a brand-new animated Peter and the Wolf, paired with Daniel’s arrangement, is a landmark moment for Carrot. It’s been wonderful to see Tsotne and Daniel collaborate across animation and music to give audiences a version of Prokofiev’s classic they won’t experience anywhere else.” Rachel Whibley, Managing Director of Carrot Productions
